Update on NE Prescott Safety – We Need Your Testimony & Photos!

Hi neighbors,

Following the tragic events at NE 87th and Prescott, I met today with Rick Nys (PBOT Traffic Operations Manager) and Luci Moody from Councilor Jamie Dunphy’s office. We discussed the ongoing issues with speeding, lack of visibility at intersections, and the need for better crossings.

PBOT is currently reviewing this corridor for safety improvements, including potential new crosswalks, bike lanes, and removing parking near corners to improve sightlines.

To help make our case, PBOT needs the following from YOU:

  • Written Testimony: Share your experiences with safety issues or “near-misses” along Prescott.

  • Photos: Send pictures of locations where parked cars make it hard to see oncoming traffic when turning or crossing.

  • Feedback: How do you feel about adding bike lanes to Prescott to help slow down traffic & make biking safer?

Please email your stories and photos to sumner.neighborhood.chair@gmail.com. I will be forwarding everything directly to PBOT.

Let’s work together to make our streets safer for everyone.
