This month we talk about the air that we all breathe and how to protect our health and livability in Sumner.

Join us this Tuesday, May 21 for our Community Meeting when we talk about everything Sumner!

Hear of all that is happening in our neighborhood. We will hear an update on the Livability Committee, crime and safety.

There have been discussions and concerns about the current and future air quality in Sumner as affected by adjacent industrial businesses.

Our guest speaker will be Greg Bourget, Executive Director and Lead Researcher at Portland Clean Air. Portland Clean Air is a registered Oregon Political Committee working to address industrial pollution in Multnomah and Washington Counties. Their mission is to improve our air quality by educating and activating people directly affected by toxic air emissions.

There is also concern about the upcoming Conditional Use Permit hearing for NRC at NE 89th and NE Emerson. Board members and neighbors in attendance at this community meeting will address your questions. The business is asking the city for permission to operate a waste related business in our neighborhood which is currently against code.

Bring your questions, or just relax and listen. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m., with social time at 6:30 p.m. We keep things moving along and plan to wrap up by 8:00 p.m. or so.

So stop by! Sumner is better with all of us!

Community Meetings meet the third Tuesday of every other month January, March, May, July, September, and November. Monthly trash pickup is during summer months, and our Annual Cleanup is in September.
