This weekend: EPO XPO (free festival in SE)

Heard of EPO XPO? It’s not in Sumner neighborhood, but the East Portland Exposition (EPO XPO) is a free three-day community event that will be held at Ed Benedict Community Park on SE Powell Boulevard between SE 100th and SE 104th Aves on Friday to Sunday, July 24-26.

EPO XPO is co-sponsored by 13 East Portland neighborhoods, and hosted by the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood.

The event will feature numerous exhibitors, lots of entertainment and food, and a wide variety of educational presentations and quality-of-life demonstrations. In addition, there will be live bands and/or live DJ’s providing music throughout the event — and a raffle with numerous cool prizes (and you don’t need to be present to win!).

Finally, Funtastic will be having a carnival on their property — on the other side of Powell Blvd. Entry to EPO XPO and the carnival is free-of-charge.

Parking is available at Ron Russell Middle School and Earl Boyles Elementary School just blocks from the event down SE Bush St. There will also be free shuttle service from the Eastport Shopping Center. The parking spaces at the park will be reserved for those with handicap parking permits.
