SUMMARY:Parade & Ice Cream Social 2024
DESCRIPTION:Description\n3rd Annual! We’ve done it twice\, and we can do it again. The Sumner Parade is here for the good of the people. \nOn a late Saturday morning\, an ice cream truck will lead a small-scale walking parade through Sumner\, about 0.6 miles (20-25 minutes). At the end of the parade (Helensview)\, the ice cream truck will stop and distribute FREE ice cream to everyone present. There may also be music and games of some kind 🙂 \nWays to Participate\nMarch in the Parade – You’ve always wanted to be in a parade\, and now you can! Ride a bike\, waive a giant flag\, walk your dog in a flamboyant costume\, juggle\, hoola-hoop\, maneuver a skateboard or scooter\, play an instrument\, balance on stilts\, bounce on a pogo stick\, hand out packaged candies\, show off your turtle\, dress up in formal wear\, or just plain walk down the streets in plain clothes. Almost anything* goes. \n*No large motor vehicles\, please \nSpectate – Sit or stand anywhere along the parade route. Contribute whoops and cheers to encourage the paraders in their festive migration. Feel free to join in the parade as it passes by\, if you feel led. \nJoin for the Ice Cream – Go to Helensview Highschool\, walk up to the ice cream truck\, and receive thy treat. \nDetails\nParade\nGather at 10:30am at 87th and Going St on Saturday \nParade will be moving 10:40-11:00 (roughly) \nIce Cream + Gathering\nHelensview High School (8678 NE Sumner St\, Portland\, OR 97220) from 11:05-12:00 (roughly). Includes: \n\nIce Cream\nShade and water\nLawn Games (probably)\nSmall live music (maybe)\nOptional post-gathering kickball (depending on interest)\n\nParade Route\n \nQuestions?
