We have another full agenda this month for the Sumner Association of Neighbors (SAN) meeting. The meeting is at 7 PM on Thursday, March 18, at the usual location: 4415 NE 87th Avenue (side door of Fire Station #12) between NE Sandy & NE Prescott. Social time starts at 6:30 PM.

Top of the list is guest speaker April Bertelsen of the Portland Bureau of Transportation, who will be talking about the sidewalk installation this summer on NE 82nd Avenue between NE Prescott Street and NE Webster Street.

A second guest speaker, John Mulvey of Oregon Common Cause, will discuss ‘voter-owned elections.’ You can learn more about voter-owned elections, at the League of Women Voters of Portland website.

Officer Eric Zajac of the Portland Police Bureau will also be on hand. Last week, by email, he confirmed that he had no additional info about the robbery at Dotty’s Deli last weekend. Perhaps something will change before then.

Other agenda items:

  • Information about the staging area set up by Sundown Electric at the sandlot (NE 92nd and NE Humboldt) related to an ODOT construction project.
  • Discussion of the SAN board election at the April meeting
  • Discussion of the draft neighborhood action plan (43K Word file) and what steps to take to make it an action plan for the next year or two.
  • Reports on committee activity (if any) including litter patrol, tree planting, business outreach, neighborhood garage sale, etc.

Reminder: This is our last meeting on a Thursday evening! Starting next month, we’re moving the monthly meeting to the third Tuesday each month. So that puts our April meeting on Tuesday, April 20. For our full schedule, see the 2010 Calendar.
